Emerson Process Management has introduced the Smart Wireless Gateway with Ethernet/IP output compatibility, which is designed to reduce the time and cost of establishing a wireless field network with an Ethernet/IP programmable logic controller (PLC).

The Smart Wireless Gateway is said to provide ease of integration and enhanced security functionality.

It eliminates the need for a converter and offers users a simple integration that will natively speak to their PLCs through the Ethernet/IP connection.
