Integrated Packaging Solutions from Omron
Omron Electronics
Hall 5, Stand C41
PPMA Show 2012
National Exhibition Centre
25th – 27th September 2012
At this year’s PPMA Show, automation expert Omron is showcasing integrated automation solutions that provide the packaging industry with flexible, efficient and cost-effective ways of addressing the ever-increasing competitive and regulatory pressures it faces.
Central themes include solutions for product handling, data integration and 100% product inspection.
Included on the stand will be a demonstration of the recently launched Delta robot system, controlled by the powerful Sysmac NJ Machine Automation Controller. The NJ controller uses EtherCAT as its machine network, with servo drives, inverters, I/O, safety and vision systems all residing on the same network, reducing complexity, increasing response speed and simplifying programming for the user.
Also on show will be an example of Omron’s SCARA robot series, highlighting simple conveyor tracking with integrated vision capabilities. Omron now offers complete automation solutions from a single supplier to machine builders in the packaging sector.
An acknowledged leader in the field of visual inspection solutions, Omron is also showing its latest vision systems and sensors at the PPMA Show, and is giving particular attention to automated checking of human-readable text & barcodes. Omron can offer both OEM component solutions and full turnkey packages designed to provide 100% inspection and eliminate non-conformant products entering the supply chain.
Among the wide range of sensor, safety and inspection solutions being shown on the Omron stand is the company’s unique SPU (storage and processing unit) for use with its CJ and CS programmable controller platforms.
The SPU facilitates real-time collection of production, process and inspection data across local I/O and industrial networks such as DeviceNet and Ethernet/IP and makes this data readily accessible to enterprise level IT systems, integrating seamlessly into SQL, Oracle or Access databases. It is, therefore, ideal for use in OEE, WIP and track-and-trace applications.
Throughout the exhibition, automation experts from Omron will be available on the stand to provide information on the company’s products and technologies, and to provide assistance to visitors with any issue relating to how our products and considerable packaging experience can be utilised to provide benefits to their systems.
