New Technology Firm, ifm prover USA, Opened for Business in Great Valley Corporate Center on July 23, 2012
The new company will produce sensors and
controls for industrial automation applications for the world market.
Exton, PA - ifm electronic, one of the world's
largest sensors and controls company, opened a new technology and manufacturing
operation in Chester County on July 23, 2012 with an investment in a new
36,000-square-feet facility. The new company, called ifm prover USA, includes a
product development team, a production facility, and multiple labs for testing
and quality control. More than 50 ifm employees work in the new facility, and
the company plans to double in size to 100 employees over the next five years.
This is ifm electronic's second facility to be established in Chester County.
The first facility, ifm efector, is located in Exton and was opened in 1985.
The address of the new building is 420 Lapp Road,
Malvern, PA 19355. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Monday, July 23, 2012
at 10:30 am. Congressman Jim Gerlach (R-PA) who serves Pennsylvania's 6th
congressional district attended the event.
ifm electronic currently has technology and
manufacturing operations in Germany, Singapore and Poland. "The driving
factors for locating the technology center in Chester County are the ability to
hire R&D product development talent from some of the top engineering
schools in the Northeast and a highly skilled manufacturing work force for
electronic assembly," says Roger Varma, CEO and president of ifm prover
USA.
ifm prover USA will produce temperature sensors
and controls for the world market. ifm sells its products to industries that
include automotive, assembly and robotics, food and beverage processing,
machine tool, material handling, mobile equipment, packaging, metal forming and
plastics.
