Haivision Provides Technology for Live Streaming of WFX 2012 Event
Kramer Electronics showcased video over IP solutions for the digital signage industry at the recent IBC show in Amsterdam.
It demonstrated a digital media player (KDS-MP1) and an H.264 HD Video encoder/streamer (KDS-EN1) on its stand at the exhibition held September 7 to 11, 2012.
The KDS-MP1 is a LAN-based digital signage media player, designed to provide high-quality HDMI video and audio output in a manner suitable for digital signage applications.
Kramer’s hardware-based media player receives content streamed from the network, saved in its internal memory or from an external USB memory stick and displays it with image quality of up to 1080p HD via HDMI, VGA or AV 3.5mm outputs.
The unit supports MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG L2, MP3, H.264/MPEG -4 and VC-1 code formats and has 4GB internal memory, which can be replaced with an external memory of up to 16GB.
Kramer also introduced an HD video encoder/streamer, the KDS-EN1. The KDS-EN1 is a broadcast-quality video scaler and audio embedder/de-embedder for digital signals up to 3G HD SDI, composite and component video signals, HDMI and balanced audio signals.
This H.264 HD encoder provides real-time encoding and compression, supporting multiple audio and video signal inputs, including analogue audio and video, SD/HD-SDI, YPbPr and HDMI.
