System Sensor is a global manufacturer of fire detection and notification devices, specializing in smoke detection and notification technology.

Honeywell announced that Lederer will report to Honeywell Life Safety President Mark Levy. Veteran Honeywell executives Todd Rief and Tom Potosnak will be working under Lederer leading Honeywell Fire SystemsAmericaand Systems Sensor Americas respectively.

Gary Lederer, who entered Honeywell in 2000 though its Pittway Corporation acquisition, is about to lead Honeywell Life Safety, Fire Solutions America, and direct operations for Fire Systems and System Sensor, which both housed under the Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions’ Life Safety business unit.

Lederer is not a stranger to Honeywell having held leadership positions at System Sensor and Honeywell Environmental and Combustion Controls and, most contemporarily, led the HLS Europe,Middle Eastand Africa (EMEA) Fire Systems business.

Allen Fritts, who worked as president for Honeywell Fire Systems Americas, and John Hakanson, who served as president of Honeywell Sensing and Devices under which System Sensor recently operates, are retiring and will assist with the transition though Septemper 2013.
