Sick has manufactured
the W18 photoelectric sensor for the purpose of identifying various targets
such as clear PET containers for Hartness’ GlobalShrink TFS machine. The
W18 photoelectric sensor is capable of finding the nature of packing material,
from clear bottles to shiny wrappers.
The
background suppression feature of the highly-advanced W18 photoelectric sensor
does not cause any reflections from the shrink wrap. This resistance helps
solve challenges such as slow production time and false trips.
The
OES3 technology in the sensor has the capability of avoiding background
reflections from the shrink wrap material, thus minimizing false activations on
the production line. The background suppression feature of the sensor proves
useful for sensing the availability of paperboard trays and containers on the
machine.
The Sick UM18 ultrasonic sensor delivers high-precision measurement even on
translucent items. The sensor has been used for measuring film diameter for
Hartness’ GlobalShrink TFS system.
Hartness
selected the KT5 contrast sensor because it can be used to detect film
registration. With a host of advanced features such as automatic selection of
3-color LED lights, teach-in alternatives, advanced optics, and built-in bar
graph display, the KT5 contrast sensor proves useful in fixing and studying
parameters with ease in the field.
