voltage isolated current sensor rated for primary voltages to ±500V. This allows the User the flexibility of providing the high voltage series resistor and the output signal resistor. The high voltage series resistor should be selected to provide the primary side nominal input current of ±10mA at the nominal primary voltage. For a ±500V peak voltage, the high voltage resistor should be 500V/10mA = 50k, 5W. The high voltage resistor must have an adequate voltage rating, power rating, accuracy and stability for the application environment. Adequate insulator surface creepage distance should be provided for all connections at high voltage. The LV25-P has a 1:1.5 primary to secondary current ratio and a ±10mA primary current will produce a ±15mA secondary current. This secondary current can be converted to a ±1500mV signal with a precision burden resistor of 100 ohm.
